To start with, Bapak would like to say welcome and good evening to all of you. Bapak gives thanks to God Almighty that you have managed to prepare and complete everything for Bapak's coming here, and also, Bapak is very happy to see you all here tonight to listen to Bapak's talk.
Brothers and sisters, of course Bapak has frequently in the past explained about the latihan kejiwaan, but Bapak still feels that it is necessary to continue once again to repeat his explanations about all this, so that all of you can more deeply and more completely become aware of and understand the use and the benefit of the latihan kejiwaan. This may well also be useful for you if people from outside Subud ask you, "What is Subud?" and "What is the use of it?" and "What is the point in it?" Then you will be able to use what Bapak is going to tell you now to give an adequate and satisfactory answer.
Brothers and sisters, people outside tend to regard Subud as a religion, or even as a new religion; but this opinion or conclusion is, in fact, completely erroneous. If Subud were a new religion then it would be impossible for Subud to accept people of different religions who still practice their religion within Subud. This is why Bapak can say that Subud is not a religion and is certainly not a new religion, because if that were the case it would not be possible for Subud to be as it is now.
In other words, Subud receives people of all religions who still practice their religion, and this is because all religions have a certain pattern, a way or a regulation. They generally also have a leader to whom they refer as their prophet, and they generally also have a book in which they have faith; this is considered a holy book of their religion. So it is clear that the bases for a religion are this leader, this way of worship, this book.
Whereas in Subud we have none of this. There is no particular leader or prophet in Subud, for the position of Bapak is not as a leader or guide, but as a pioneer. Bapak is the first one willed by Almighty God to receive the latihan from God, and Bapak is also a channel, because Bapak was willed by Almighty God to channel what he received from God to everyone else, to all of you.
Therefore, Bapak is a channel, not a leader, because the one who leads, the one who guides in Subud is the power of Almighty God; because, as Bapak has always explained, the latihan kejiwaan is a receiving or a guidance from the power of Almighty God. Bapak does not know why God willed Bapak to be the first man, but that is how it was.
Bapak's position as the first man, and as the pioneer and the channel, does not involve responsibility for what you do after Bapak has opened you, because the nature of the opening is that Bapak brings you in front of the power of God, and at that moment you promise to have faith in God and to surrender yourself to God Almighty and to follow faithfully the latihan kejiwaan.
So after that, if you do not practice the latihan or if you break your promise to Almighty God or to have faith in God, none of this reflects back on Bapak. Bapak does not carry a risk or receive any debit or something like that if you break your promise to Almighty God, because that is a matter between you and God. Bapak has done his job, Bapak has carried out his responsibility inasmuch as he has passed on to you the contact that he received from Almighty God.
So it is clear that Subud, therefore, does not follow the pattern of a religion, because you are guided directly and individually by the power of Almighty God, which guides you both inwardly and outwardly.
Brothers and sisters, the reason why Bapak says that what we receive in the latihan kejiwaan is the guidance of Almighty God is because, if it were not the guidance of Almighty God, then it would be impossible for us to put aside the influence of the nafsu. Now the reason why this is so is because the influence of the nafsu has its region and its abode in the heart and mind, and this influence is so all-pervasive that it rules the whole of man's life. Actually, the nafsu guards the door through which man comes into this world, and also the door through which man leaves this world into the next.
Now, because the influence of the nafsu is so all-pervasive, human beings have, since the earliest times, made great, superhuman efforts to try to rid themselves of this influence of the nafsu by all sorts of ascetic practices and by all sorts of efforts of will. But, in general, the results of such efforts are not that they are thereby guided to the pure, clear world - the world of the purified human being - which they seek. On the contrary, they are tempted and turned towards a world that people would rather avoid: the world of temptation, the world of the satanic, the world of those who have gone astray. This illustrates the enormous power of the nafsu over the human being, so enormous that man cannot by his own efforts, no matter how hard he tries, avoid that influence.
And this is why finally Almighty God has decided to act Himself, to assist human beings directly by His own power to limit, to tame, or to contain, the influence of the nafsu, to make it possible for human beings to receive directly the guidance of God's power in their lives. You may then ask, "Why only now, why didn't God do this before and save all those people from going astray?" The answer is, of course, that man has received this from God in the past, but because times were different, so too the way of receiving was also different.
In the old days, the first one to receive God's revelation was the prophet Abraham, and he was so willed by God to give teaching and guidance and advice to those around him. There was also a book, and this book, which became the guideline or the path of those who followed the religion of the prophet Abraham, was known as the Jabur.
Century followed century, and another prophet received a revelation from Almighty God, and he was the prophet Moses. The one who received was the prophet Moses, and then he was forced to transmit what he had received, to teach and advise his followers. The book received by the prophet Moses is known as the Torah.
Again, century followed century, and then another human being, known as Jesus Christ, was able to receive the revelation of Almighty God. Once again, Jesus was willed by God to pass on what he had received by means of teaching to his followers. This teaching is contained in a book known as the Gospels.
And then once again century followed century and then the prophet Muhammad was enabled to receive the revelation of Almighty God, and once again he received revelation but he could only transmit this to others through teaching, and that teaching is contained in the book known as Al Koran.
So actually, if you look at the history of God's revelation, there is no shortage of good advice, no shortage of teaching from Almighty God for mankind. And yet man is still in a state of chaos, still in a state of continuous quarrelling, and when this quarrelling gets big we call it war. It seems that religion is unable to overcome this disease of mankind, because even people of the same religion who follow the same teacher now go to war. So it is clear that man has not been able to - in the long term cannot - truly absorb into his inner feeling the teaching of the prophets and the messengers of Almighty God. And the reason why, is again the influence of the nafsu. Man is not able to put aside the influence of the nafsu because man is not able to rid himself of his self-interest.
This is something that you can truly understand: there are very few people who, when they see something nice or beautiful can give that to somebody else, or even give a little of it to somebody else. Generally you want it for yourself. It is very difficult for people who experience something pleasant, delightful and sweet, to not want to keep it for themselves and not share even a little of it with other people. This is the nature of the nafsu, though this nafsu is not meant to lead man astray. Actually man needs the nafsu to be able to live in this world, because nafsu is given to man as a means to surviving in this world. That is, it is a source of knowledge, a force and an urge within himself to achieve something.
Of course, God does not wish the nafsu to be harmful for man; God wills it to be beneficial for man, something that man can use for the benefit of his life. So the gift of the nafsu to man is in fact part of God's generosity to man, and part of God's goodwill and love towards man, for God has given man something with which he can perfect his life in this world. But this is generally not possible for man, because he cannot restrain himself from the wish to have something for himself which he is then unable to share with others.
Now finally, and Bapak does not know why, but Bapak only knows that he has received something from Almighty God; you could call it a gift and you could call it a receiving. Bapak cannot describe it and compare what Bapak receives because in the end only God knows what is right and what is not right, what is good and what is bad.
So it is not necessary to describe Subud in glowing terms or to say good things about it because in the end it is God Almighty who knows what is good and what is not good; but what Bapak knows is that this is what Bapak has received. And the one thing that Bapak knows - and Bapak has experienced and witnessed it for himself - is that what Bapak has received is truly what the whole of mankind is looking for, because this force, or gift, is the only thing that is able to contain, to overcome and bypass, the influence of the nafsu, so that man can truly receive directly the guidance of the power of Almighty God within his own being.
This proof came to Bapak through the way Bapak himself received it. Bapak is a Muslim, and the reason Bapak calls himself a Muslim is because his parents were Muslims and their parents were also Muslims, so it was logical that Bapak has received this in the form of Islam. In other words, Bapak received the latihan in the form of a Muslim prayer but, very soon afterwards, his receiving changed spontaneously to embrace other things: dancing, self-defense, different types of movement, every kind of behavior and culture that exists in human life.
And from the richness and the variety of Bapak's receiving and training that Bapak was made to follow through the latihan kejiwaan, Bapak drew the conclusion that what Bapak had received was not for himself alone, but was for all mankind and was something that involved the whole of human life.
Brothers and sisters, it is not necessary, nor is it good for us to describe or talk in great length about the latihan kejiwaan; for if we do that it will only add to our own confusion and give us more things to think about. What is important is that the real content of the latihan is much better discovered from the reality, from the experience of the latihan itself. If you examine the reality of the latihan, if you examine the experience in the latihan, you have to conclude that, for example, though you already know how to walk - you have been walking all your life - yet you are trained to walk, you are made to walk in the latihan. You already know how to use your hands, you use your hands all day long to hold things and to do things, and yet you are made to move your hands again, you are made to wave your arms and to move your hands. You already in your life know how to speak, to sing, to shout and to laugh, and yet in the latihan you are made once again to talk, to shout, to sing, to cry, to laugh, and so on.
Although all these things are normal in your life - you know how to do all these things - in the latihan you are made to do them again, so that little by little you learn how to distinguish the difference between when you walk, and when you are made to walk by the power of Almighty God. In other words, you learn to distinguish, within your walking, what is moved by your nafsu and what is moved by something that comes from beyond your own heart and mind, from beyond your own will and your wish, from beyond your own nafsu.
So the experience of the latihan already makes it clear what the latihan is for. Because by doing the latihan over a period of time, little by little you are able to feel for yourself that somewhere in the midst of all that walking that you do, there is some walking that does not come from your own will but comes from beyond, from beyond your own nafsu, from beyond your own heart and mind. Somewhere within all that movement of your hands there is movement that does not come from your own nafsu and from your heart and mind - but there is another power from another life that is within your own being.
Also, you will begin to feel that within the use of your voice from all your talking and laughing, there are movements that are not from your own will, which are already guided by a power that comes from beyond your own will, your own heart and mind. And similarly with your own understanding, with all the thinking that you do, you will find that already there is a trace of something that comes from beyond your own thinking. So it is clear then that what you learn from these experiences of the latihan is the guidance of the power of God. Though actually the guidance of the power of God is not limited to a part of human experience, but involves everything that man needs for his life.
The question then arises, "Why is man then unable in general to feel it, why is man unable to receive this?" And the reason once again comes back to the influence of this nafsu within man's heart and mind.
Brothers and sisters, Bapak will give an example of this power of the nafsu. Supposing you are a person who is well-to-do: you have everything that you need. You have 100 deutchemarks that are surplus, and supposing someone comes to you who really needs this money, who really needs your 100DM to be able to live and asks you, "Please, can you give me your 100DM? I really need 100DM to live," but you say, "No". Or if the person only asks you for 10 percent of your 100DM, only 10DM, but you think to yourself, "I cannot spare it, because I still might need it for this and that," so you are able to think of other things that you might need; you think, just in case, you'd better not give this 10DM. And although that person who asks you really cannot live without that 10DM because he has nothing, still you cannot give it to him because you think of some reason why you need that 10DM. This is the nature of the nafsu, and this is the big danger. It is why we are taught always in every religion to give alms, we are taught that we must give a certain percentage, a certain part of what we own to the poor, we must give to the needy.
And actually that teaching is not limited to money; it extends to other things. For example, we are taught that if we are very clever, if we have a lot of intelligence, knowledge or understanding, we must give that to people who are ignorant. The purpose of this is that those who are ignorant are lifted out of their ignorance, out of their stupidity and become intelligent, able to do and to know what they need. And similarly, if we are very strong, we must guide those who are weak so that they themselves can become strong.
What is the purpose of this, what is the use of someone who is strong guiding someone who is weak to become strong? In order that there should not be too great a gap between those who are very rich and those who are very clever, those who are very strong and those who are very poor, very weak and very ignorant.
It is that gap which is the danger to mankind, and everywhere today people are trying to find the solution to this danger, because everywhere in the world there is a gap between the people who are millionaires, who have every conceivable thing and beyond what they can conceive what they need, and the people who have nothing, who have not enough to live on, not even enough to eat or to wear, in other words, their lives are like material things, they no longer have any motive power of their own. How can we overcome this danger? Everyone in the world today is looking for the solution because they can see already the danger that such great greed might arise from these poor people who have nothing. A great uprising, or a great movement might arise from them, which will create chaos and great disruption and destruction throughout the world.
So, brothers and sisters, Bapak has used this example to illustrate what Bapak means about the greed of the nafsu, the influence of the nafsu within our being. Now this is what you are being taught in the latihan kejiwaan. You are being taught to distinguish within your own being between the "I act" and "I am made to act", between "I walk" and "I am made to walk", between what comes from your nafsu, what comes from your will, what comes from your heart and mind, and the action that comes from the power of God. So little by little you are able to feel within yourself the continuous play between the action that comes from yourself and the action that comes from the power of God; little by little the two become closer.
Your own being - your own nature - and the power of God become one. This is the purpose of the latihan kejiwaan. Bapak wants to explain to you that the purpose of the latihan kejiwaan is not that every Saturday night you go somewhere and make funny movements and then go home. The purpose of the latihan kejiwaan is to be attentive and to delve into what is the real inner nature of the latihan, in order to understand what is going on in the latihan within your being and understand what this means in your everyday life.
This is the reason why Bapak still has to come here to talk to all of you. Bapak has constantly to remind you, to explain to you, to help you to come to an understanding of the use and the purpose of the latihan kejiwaan. This is the reason why Bapak still has to go around to remind you always, to explain over and over again in the hope that little by little you will understand what the latihan kejiwaan is about.
Look, Bapak will give you just an example; all of you have had this experience. If you really honestly remember before you were opened, before you joined the latihan kejiwaan, you used to get angry very easily. If you are honest with yourself, if you remember how you used to be, you were very upset by people, you very easily felt anger in your heart. For example, if you saw a friend who constantly received something very nice that you did not have, or if you saw a friend constantly being promoted higher than you were, you had a feeling inside of anger. And then when you were opened, you did the latihan, this tendency became much less. If you examine within yourself this feeling of anger, this feeling of being quickly upset at other people, of being touchy, you will see that it has lessened. So it should be clear, if you are honest with yourself, that even if your latihan is, say, incomplete, even though you are fairly aware that what you have received is still a very small part of the latihan, yet already there has been a change in your character, already your nature has been improved and you have experienced this improvement that Bapak talks about.
In other words, you are being trained by the latihan to be people with a better character, trained to be harmonious people. You are being trained to get along with others, and you are able not to feel jealous of or be affected by people who are higher than yourself; and you will not be affected by people who are lower than yourself. In other words, you are being trained in being harmonious, in getting along with people, in working together.
This is why, brothers and sisters, quite frankly, when Bapak still gets letters from Subud groups here and there saying that so and so is still quarrelling with so and so, and how can we solve it, or, even worse, the helpers are quarrelling among themselves or the helpers do not get along with so and so, Bapak still wonders why it is like that/why people are still behaving in this way. Because certainly it means that still you have not yet understood, not yet been able to reap the benefits of this latihan kejiwaan.
Brothers and sisters, in this latihan we do not need to make any propaganda; actually Bapak never feels the need for us to go out and say to people, "Subud is wonderful, Subud is like this, Subud is like that, you must join Subud because it is good for you." in fact, we never need to say that because if you can just show, if you can just really understand and manifest the use and the benefits of the latihan within your own nature, that propaganda will not be necessary. In other words, if you can truly feel and make something real within yourself, so that you really get close to each other within your own group, if you can really work well together and really act in harmony with people of your own Subud group, then any propaganda will be easy.
This harmony among you will stick out and people outside will see it and will come to you and say, "What has happened to you? When we knew you before, you were like this and like this, and now how come you are like that? And how come a group of people, simply an ordinary group of people, can build this and build that, and achieve this and achieve that?" Then you will be able to say, "This is because of the latihan kejiwaan." So actually you don't need to make propaganda for Subud; the propaganda will be done in your own lives and in your own actions and behavior.
Brothers and sisters, nor do we need to use a lot of theory; we do not need to discuss theoretical points and theoretical ideas. The time has come now for practice, because there is no lack of theory, there is no lack of advice from he prophets and from people who are very clever in their ideas and behavior. All that is already there, but what we need now is the ability to put everything into practice, because practice is the completeness of knowledge. This is a saying: knowledge is complete when it is practiced.
So in a school, no matter how high the teaching you give to your pupils, no matter how fantastic and deep the knowledge you impart to the pupils, if you don't give them the practical experience, if you don't teach them how to practice it, it is still nothing, it is still only an image or a mirage. The reality comes when you put into practice what you teach, and this is the purpose behind the latihan kejiwaan. The purpose behind the latihan is that we should experience it within ourselves and put it into practice. So it is necessary for us that we put into practice, in our everyday life, what we receive within our own being from Almighty God.
Bapak can draw another example: why is it that in the world today there are still people in West Iran, people in Africa, people maybe still in the Americas, who lack every kind of civilization and culture? They don't wear clothes, they live as savages in the jungle. And yet God created man once and for all. God does not create people every week or every month; God's creation was once and for always. God created man once and that was it, so actually all men are equal. It is no use saying that these people, these savages are not human beings: they are human beings. They are just the same as you or I and all of us here. The proof is that if you take a child from the jungle of West Iran and put him into a school here, he will be able to learn, he will be able to study, he will be able to go to university and become a doctor or an engineer. There is no difference; so why then are they like that, and we like this?
Brothers and sisters, they are like that because they are lazy, because they have no aim or intention, or wish beyond today. Their only aim is to find enough food for today so that they can eat today and then sleep, and what they need tomorrow they will look for tomorrow. They have no intention or wish to put something away for tomorrow, in other words, to achieve something more than what is ordinary, to reach for something beyond what they already know. And because they have no other intention, they never learn anything new, they never experience anything beyond the life of an animal or creature of nature.
Also, if they see something strange, they immediately give it some authority. For example, if they see a strange rock or something like that, they immediately think that that rock is different from other rocks, maybe there is some God living inside it. So they immediately start worshipping it. They are afraid of anything that is different from the ordinary, and they bow down before it. This tendency is then handed down from generation to generation to generation and then they end up as they are now: savages in the jungle. So this is what distinguishes people who make progress from people who stay the way they are.
This is a lesson for us all: if we want to progress, we have to put to the test everything that we do. And this is why God created the whole universe and ourselves and everything that exists, because God wanted to test his own ability and his own greatness. And similarly, it is our duty to put to the test everything that we receive from Almighty God.
So now, brothers and sisters, if we have received God's grace, if we have received God's guidance and God's power within our own power through the latihan kejiwaan, when we experience a difficulty in our lives - if we come up against some obstacle or something we do not know - we should in turn ask the power of God. Ask God's guidance to help you, to give an answer to the problem you are facing. This is the use, the purpose of the latihan kejiwaan that we have received.
So, brothers and sisters, what this means is that God has provided you with the answer to every possible problem or question or difficulty or need that you may have in your life. It is all there within you, but on one condition, that you actually put it into practice, that you actually try it out and actually act.
Because while it just remains a theory or an idea that hangs in the air above you, it will never become anything. It is like Bapak said earlier, that as long as that child does not learn to put into practice what he has learned in school, it is completely useless to him. It is only when you put it into practice that you will be able to receive the benefit and the reality of what you have received.
This is the case with Bapak, that in everything that Bapak has received, Bapak was expected by God to put it to the test, and to really try it out to see, is it right or not - in other words, to check and to double check, and to test everything that Bapak received. And this is what we have received too, because Bapak has brought us face to face with God and Bapak has handed on to us everything that Bapak has received. So what we have received now is the ability to correct ourselves, to test and to correct our own shortcomings within this life, within this framework of our life in this world. And this is the purpose and the benefit of the latihan kejiwaan.
Brothers and sisters, Bapak wants to tell you a story. It is a story from long ago but it gives you a picture of what Bapak has experienced. Before 1930, Bapak received that there would be a world war later on and that after this world war Indonesia would become free, and that after Indonesia became free, Bapak would be willed by God to travel around the world and to spread what he had received from Almighty God to all mankind, that is, beyond Indonesia itself to people outside in foreign countries. This receiving did not make Bapak very happy; it made him very disturbed and sad because Bapak had nothing, Bapak had no way in which to fulfil God's command. So it was for Bapak a great source of suffering. But Bapak was told, "You are not allowed to doubt, because God is Almighty." So Bapak simply left it to the power of Almighty God.
And indeed, there was a world war, and Indonesia did become free, and thereafter Bapak did travel around the world. If you can understand it, this progression of events had such a profound impact on the life of Bapak because truly everything that Bapak received was foretold, everything that Bapak received became true and real, and until now Bapak has carried out to the letter everything that Almighty God commanded Bapak. Bapak has done everything he was ordered to do. To date, Bapak has traveled around the world twenty-one times. This is the twenty-first, and according to the logbook of our brother Faisal Sillem, in Holland, Bapak has traveled about 950,000 miles.
This is something that Bapak does not feel. Bapak feels it in the way that someone flies in the plane, you can feel yourself traveling, but he does not feel that he has traveled this huge distance, because Bapak is simply carrying out what God has commanded him, what he has received from Almighty God.
Bapak has told you this story to show you, to prove to you that Bapak has experienced what he is telling you, that Bapak has really experienced for himself what it means to receive the guidance of Almighty God and to put it into practice.
So, brothers and sisters, Bapak will continue taking to you later probably, but first Bapak feels it is necessary that you experience what Bapak has been telling you, in a way that is real for all of you. Because today it is no longer allowed for us just to talk and talk and talk, because then it is just talk. Now it is already necessary for us always to accompany our words with action, in other words, we must always work; when we talk we must also work. Bapak will do this "working" with you now, and maybe afterwards Bapak will talk again some more.
So, to use the terminology of today, when we talk about something we must also carry out a survey, we must survey what we have talked about to see if it is true or not.
( Testing )
So, maybe that is the first time you have done a survey of the members of your body, the parts of your body. But in fact this is essential for you, for later when you are going to leave this world. Because over there, after you have died, you will be asked by the angels, "Where is your nose?" And if you cannot find it, they will put a different nose in its place, perhaps the nose of a cow.
Even this is explained in the holy books. This, brothers and sisters, is the use and the benefit of the latihan kejiwaan of Subud.
Brothers and sisters, all of you, and especially those who work in the United Nations, know the state of the world today. You must be very well up on what is going on. But all of you are aware that actually nowadays everywhere throughout the world people fear for the future. People are afraid of what is going to happen in the world, and because of this situation it is very important that you understand the real nature and the real situation.
The real situation is that weapons, weapons that everyone is afraid of, have no danger in themselves. For example, if you have a table full of revolvers and machine guns, if you do not pick them up, they are totally lifeless and without danger to anybody. So clearly what is dangerous is not the weapon but the human being. The danger is in the content of the human being. So that is why, brothers and sisters, if this latihan kejiwaan can spread and can reach those people whose duty it is to handle and look after these weapons of destruction throughout the world, then it will be possible to control or restrict their use, or to get rid of them. War will not take place because the people involved will not want to do it, because they will have already been filled with the power of Almighty God.
( Testing )
Such is the nature of the life force of material objects and material things, so actually it is very dangerous and harmful for man unless that man is already filled by the power of God.
So this was a survey for you of how material things influence your being, the being of a human, and therefore you should not take it easily, you should not receive the grace of God and just quietly put it in your pocket, and keep it there; because when you receive something and you do not use it in the way it is supposed to be used, then it is always a danger to you, it is always a danger to the one that has it. Therefore, brothers and sisters, try to put this into practice and try to use it to become people who truly set an example in your outer lives, with the result that more and more people are interested in and are willing to receive this latihan kejiwaan, so that it does not just stay with you yourselves, but can be received by many, many people around you.
More people, many, many people should be able to receive this latihan kejiwaan, so that the world becomes a place that is safe for human life. Now it is clear that the latihan kejiwaan is something that we receive from Almighty God, but this receiving of God's guidance places us between two things. It places us on the one hand in a position in which we worship Almighty God but, on the other hand, we also have the duty to use it to bring order within our own selves, and secondly to bring order to the outer world, that is, the world around us. In other words, 'to ensure that we have everything we need for our lives to earn a living to support all our needs and those of our family in this world, so that our life can be happy both in this world and the next.
So it is by the will of Almighty God that the purpose of this latihan is not only to save or to safeguard our own jiwa, but to make this world a place that is truly suited for man's worship of Almighty God.
This has often been taught and encouraged and advised by the messengers of Almighty God, by the prophets in the olden days. And yet it has never been put into practice or achieved. Maybe now it is God's will that it should be possible to put it into practice, with the receiving of the latihan kejiwaan, because in this latihan we have been given a method or a technique or a tool for surveying our own being. For carrying out a survey of our whole being and finding out what it has to be used for, how to use it and how to operate it in accordance with God's will.
So, brothers and sisters, if God gives you something, then it is necessary for you to put it into practice. This is what Bapak hopes for you, that you are able to use whatever God gives you; that if God gives you a ballpoint pen, for example, you will start writing with it. If you ask Bapak, when shall we do all this? Bapak hopes that truly you will be able to start and put into practice what Bapak has said to you tonight.
Brothers and sisters, there is Bapak; Bapak is himself on duty for another four months; Bapak is not going to stop here; Bapak is going to Latin America, North America and then back again, finally to Jakarta. This is how Bapak carries out the duty, the responsibility that God has given him. Although Bapak is already an old man he is still on duty, he is still carrying out the responsibility. Why? Because he has received this from Almighty God and he knows that it is necessary to pass this on, to pass it on to mankind everywhere, and this is also your duty. Those of you who are already helpers are already channels for passing on this contact to other people.
So don't let it stop there; do your own duty and make sure that this does not stop with you, but that the latihan kejiwaan is received by many people in the world. Otherwise it is as though you have been given a ballpoint pen by Almighty God and you have stuck it in your pocket and don't ever write with it. To some extent, that is a sin towards the one who gave it to you. But don't be afraid, because God is not a bogey man or something you have to be afraid of.
Brothers and sisters, Bapak would like to conclude his talk now, but Bapak will be with you for some days yet, so in the coming days Bapak will talk to you again.
