Brothers and sisters, before Bapak does some testing with you, Bapak would like to explain one or two things to you.
The first point that Bapak considers most important is to say something to you about this business of adding new helpers or appointing new helpers. Bapak considers that it's extremely important to appoint new helpers in all the groups everywhere. The purpose of this is to ensure that the needs of the members are really taken care of. The number of helpers that you can add is really something that you can work out for yourselves. Let's say that you have twenty helpers already. It means you can add fifteen or ten more. You don't have to have too many helpers but enough to ensure that the needs of the members are truly able to be taken care of.
Bapak feels that this is very necessary because Bapak sees that there are still Subud members who have been opened but still do not feel the latihan, and haven't really grasped what the latihan is. And Bapak considers this something that is very, very important, Bapak feels that this sort of situation can be overcome if there are more helpers and if the work is spread around so that the new members are really looked after by the helpers.
As for the way of appointing new helpers, one of the most important things is to test these helpers first. In other words, test them in the sense of trying them out. That means that you give them a trial period or a Candidate period during which time these helpers, these candidate helpers, have to join in with the other helpers to do all the various things that helpers have to do. And you can observe their capacity and their diligence in carrying out these duties. One of the most important things is that they also have to have experience in opening people. And that means that whenever there is an opening they should be present so that they not only learn how to look after members, how to take the latihan, but also how to open new members.
And finally, they have to be shown how to explain Subud to new members, to people wishing to be opened, which of course should be based on what Bapak explains in his talks. In other words, you should use Bapak's talks where he explains what Subud is as a model for how you explain Subud to new members. So that people who are opened, once they are opened, they really understand the principles of what Subud is. Because Bapak is convinced that there are members who are opened but don't really understand what Subud is. They don't really understand the basic principles of what the latihan is.
Next, in dealing with helpers' problems, Bapak reminds you that helpers ought to do latihan together among themselves periodically. Whether it is weekly or two-weekly, that's up to them. But this is very important that they do one extra latihan just for themselves. And as far as Bapak remembered, it is normal to invite the committee to join in these helpers' latihans. Bapak says this is very important so that the committee doesn't get left behind. In other words, people who work on the committee should have a chance to receive more than the ordinary members through joining in the helpers' latihan.
By the way, Bapak is answering these questions, as it were, because these are questions that were put to Bapak when Bapak was in Melbourne. So Bapak has sort of assumed that you have the same questions, although you haven't asked Bapak anything. So Bapak thought it would be useful to repeat his answers to you now.
One of the questions that was asked in Melbourne was about testing that is sometimes helpful, and sometimes confusing. When you have fifteen helpers all testing on a question and then all fifteen of them explain what they received, sometimes the person asking the question is more confused at the end than at the beginning. Actually, when a member has a question and he has put the question to the helpers, that question should be tested by at most, three helpers. Let us say three helpers. Then you can say that if two helpers receive well and clearly and the third one does not, that you can accept the answer of the two as it. But if there is one member who receives clearly and the other two are a bit unclear, then it's better to do the test again another time. In other words, postpone it and try again. But don't have a huge number of people all testing the same question.
There was another question that Bapak will refer to. It's really to do with how to foster enterprises, but before Bapak gets to that, Bapak also feels that you may have your own questions. Frankly Bapak would like you to come out with them now. If there are any problems, if there are any important problems that affect the group, things you have difficulty with or something, now is the time to ask Bapak, so that Bapak can deal with it now.
Preferably helpers, but not necessarily. But problems dealing with the group. Not personal problems.
( A woman asks for further clarification of Bapak's remarks in Melbourne about understanding one's movement in latihan and asking for help in progressing in the latihan. )
What Bapak meant was something like this. Some of you - supposing in your latihan you just walk around – maybe you just follow that, and you go on walking around for maybe a long time, maybe not for just one or two latihans but for months and months. Or supposing you're always shouting the same thing in your latihan and you go on shouting the same thing week after week, maybe for months. Normally you just accept that and just follow, and you just go on doing the same thing. But Bapak said in fact, if you do the same latihan over and over again, you should ask yourself, or ask God by way of your own self: "Is there anything more that I'm supposed to be receiving? Is there anything in addition to this latihan that I’ve received so far that is right for me to receive? What is the purpose of this latihan that I keep receiving? What is the content of it?"
Of course, in asking this, ask it honestly, with sincerity and submission to God and not putting your will in front - because then it is useless. But ask sincerely and openly: "What is the purpose of this latihan, and is there anything more that I could be receiving?" Bapak said this is quite important so that you deepen your understanding of what you are receiving in the latihan.
Now Bapak can give you another example. Look at a latihan of laughter. When Bapak tests you, Bapak can make you laugh in your latihan. So should ask yourself, "Why is it I'm able to laugh in my latihan when I'm tested by Bapak but not when I'm doing my latihan by myself?" You are allowed to ask God something to your latihan.
You are allowed to ask this. And maybe, you thereby add In other words, once you've done your latihan which you normally receive, you can ask to receive other things. And in this way, your latihan gets broader and wider. So Bapak said it's OK to do that; it is acceptable.
Can you stand up, L.
Do your latihan.
( Test )
Do you understand the meaning of that, or the purpose of it?
L: No.
Again. Relax. Ask God with true submission and surrender, what is the meaning of that movement?
( Test )
Stop. It's not clear yet is it?
( L's answer is not clear on tape )
Yes, sort of, but in fact you don't yet understand the meaning of it. Now receive again. Relax first.
( Bapak recites Arabic prayers )
Follow the movements.
( Test )
Receive again.
( Bapak recites again )
( Test )
This is in Arabic. This is the language of Islam. Do you not do prayers? Five times a day?
( Bapak asks in English, "Do you do solat?" )
L. answers that she is no longer Islam.
( Sharif tells Bapak that L. is no longer Muslim. Bapak reacts with surprise. Bapak asks in English, "But you have been to Mecca?" )
But you have been to Mecca and you're a haji?
( L. answers )
And now you are not anymore?
L. affirms this.
The latihan kejiwaan is Islam· ( Bapak demonstrates Takbiran )
This is why Bapak says the latihan is not only for the physical body but also for the voice. So for example when Bapak says, "Usollih fardol isayi" etc., then at that moment everything disappears from Bapak's mind except the worship of God. And it's spontaneous. The prayer is spontaneous. And this feeling cannot disappear.
( Question from L. )
But later is will develop by itself.
Bapak: ( in English ) I hope so. ( he laughs )
Again. So that you are more convinced. Now just follow with your movements what Bapak says. (Bapak begins to sing Arabic prayers.)
( Test )
Nice, isn't it. This is the movement according to the reality of man.
Again, so that you shouldn't think that it only works if it is an Arabic song. ( Bapak sings again )
( Test )
That's enough. Otherwise we'll use up all our time. The purpose of this is so that your latihan doesn't always just repeat the same things over and over again. There should be more variety. Otherwise, in the end you get fed up with it. You get bored with it. Sometimes you have something different like what Bapak just did.
Again.
Bapak: (in English) You are long in Subud?
Since 1964.
I feel sorry for you.
Again. ( Bapak sings Javanese kinanti )
( Test )
This was a Javanese song. So you have to understand God is not just a God of Arabs but of the whole of mankind. Now you understand. After this, your latihan will be different from what it's been all this time.
Bapak did say earlier, before Bapak started testing L that you have the right to ask if your latihan gets stuck like that. It's all right to ask why and what, and it's all right to ask what else you can receive besides that. And Bapak said it's only when you don't get an answer from asking yourself, that is asking the power of God through yourself, that you can go to a helper, or helpers, to ask for their help to test this with you. And then if you are still not clear, or you still don't get anywhere, you can write a letter to Bapak.
And then also when Bapak was reciting in Arabic, Bapak gave translation in Indonesian where he said the meaning was:
The whole of the universe is the creation of God. God also guides and shows the way to each of his creatures. Therefore you should improve the way of your life to the way that is right. In accordance with the correct pattern of your life.
Now Bapak would like to say something about enterprises and how to go about setting up enterprises successfully.
First of all, before you do any enterprises, before you start thinking about enterprises, the committee should set up a group of experts or a body of consultants - which Bapak has often described. This body should consist of those among you who have expertise in some field. It should combine expertise in whatever fields you have it in - business, trade, technical matters, production, industry, marketing. How many people will be on this consulting body or this group - which is usually called SES or Subud Enterprise Services - depends on what you need and how many people you have available.
The purpose of this group of experts is to give guidance, help, and supervision to those who are going to do the enterprise.
For example, if a group wants to start an enterprise in the field of agriculture, then they should be advised, helped, and put on the right track by an expert in the field of agriculture. If they do an enterprise in another field, then again they should be guided and put on the right track by an expert in that field.
Now we come to the matter of capital. Generally capital is considered to be money. But in fact, capital is energy. Capital is energy which is applied in a way that is honest and correct for the purpose required. So if you undertake an enterprise in a way that is truly honest and truly correct - in other words, if you can really be trusted by other people, really trustworthy, and are also willing to be trusted - then that is your capital. So in fact, capital is not money. Capital is your own nature or your own work.
The key to having capital is to have a good name, that is to have a good reputation as someone who is trustworthy and knows how to work. The key to all this is that whatever you do, you have to do honestly and well. If you can do that, then it will be easy for you to find the working capital, the money or the financing that you need for whatever scheme you want to undertake. And of course, always do whatever you do guided by experts in that field.
Now Bapak knows that here in Sydney, just to take this group as an example, you have no lack of people with knowledge, expertise, and education in various fields of business or work. Nor do you lack assets. You are not people without means. But you can only mobilize this knowledge and these means if you work together.
So don't try to go out and do things on your own so that each one of you is ignoring everybody else, and just thinking of your own needs.
The purpose of a Subud enterprise is to cooperate. In the latihan we are taught that we have to know each other, become aware of each other, and understand each other. We have to know each other's problems and each other's needs. We have to love each other, help each other, trust each other and respect each other. So if we are taught that in the latihan, we have to apply it in our everyday life. It is from this source that we build enterprises.
The condition for something to succeed is that the people who undertake it together are harmonious and honest. These are the two requirements for successful enterprises.
It is clear then that the way we are to undertake enterprises in Subud is to combine. Combine people working together in the form of a cooperation or cooperative, or in some form working together - whether it is ten people, or twenty people, or thirty - the more the better. The purpose for which we work together is to benefit our own lives. The purpose of this cooperation is to benefit these ten people. In other words to build something for your own selves, for the benefit and improvement of your own life. And, Bapak reminds you, always guided by expertise in the field you are undertaking.
If you're going to undertake a business in cattle ranching for example, then you need to have experts - people who know about cattle, people who can advise you about what breed you should use, how to deal with them, how to deal with this kind of animal or that kind of animal, how to make sure that it will be fertile, that it will give a lot of milk, or that it will grow fast. Whatever. And on this you can build a successful enterprise.
After all, America was built on people looking after animals, on the ability of people to raise cattle and develop a successful enterprise.
Once again. Enterprises in Subud are carried out together, looking after each other, supervising each other, helping each other and trusting each other. Such a community or cooperation must of course be managed by rules that are worked out together in how to run it and how to organize it. Certainly in Subud we must be able to do this. If people out of Subud, people who have not received the worship of Almighty God can successfully do what Bapak has described, then how much more must we be able to do in Subud? Because in Subud, once we have received the latihan kejiwaan, it means that whatever we do, whatever we undertake in our life, it is as though we are protected, we are guided by the power of Almighty God.
At any moment, when we encounter difficulty, at that moment help will come from the power of God. So all these things that Bapak described, if we do them in Subud, let's say looking after animals, or agriculture, or industry, or what have you - each of these efforts is, as it were, enveloped, guided, and protected by the power of Almighty God. Our lives should be more profitable for us through the latihan.
Bapak knows that when you are thinking about something that you have never done before, then it is very, very difficult. Anything that you do for the first time is full of problems and difficulties. But once you have done it, once you are familiar with it, then it is so easy. You will be surprised.
Now you are thinking about this enterprise business as something completely beyond you, as something very difficult. But once you have done it, once you understand how it works, you will find that it's easier than eating a tomato.
For example, take batiks. The ladies present. This is something you can start with just to take an example. Supposing you decide to sell batik. You get in touch with someone in Indonesia and get them to send you batiks. Maybe the first time this will be very difficult - how to get them, how to organize it and so on - but once you have done it once, twice, three times, four times, it will become very, very easy. And you will find that you know how to do it and how to be successful. Then you will notice something. And this is where the extra plus, the benefit of the latihan kejiwaan comes in.
If you are doing something like that, selling something for example, you can ask that thing - for example Bapak picked up this thing and asked, "Where is it I can sell you?" and the thing will tell you, "Over there" And you say, "Now I bought* you for fifty dollars. What will you be worth over So it is clear that once you have the latihan you can communicate with anything, you can talk to anything. Bapak says it's not the thing that talks to you, the thing is just a thing. It's the power of God. Because the power of God envelops everything and knows everything.
Another example. Supposing you are doing agriculture and you are planting a tree, you can ask that tree, "Tree, if I plant you here and you grow up, will I be able to sell your fruit profitably?" And the tree will say yes or no. And this yes or no is something you can know before you plant it from the power of Almighty God.
In another example. If you happen to be a contractor and you are building houses or whatever. Before you build that thing you can ask, "This kind of building - if I build you, will I be able to sell you or not? And what form should you take in order to be saleable?" So you can find out not only whether you should build it, but what kind of house, what form of house, what type of house you should build.
But all this is the benefit of the latihan kejiwaan. And when you do the latihan, you can communicate with everything.
With whatever it is that you are doing in this world. In this way you will really find out what is the benefit of worshipping Almighty God. You will really find out through the use, through your good behavior and through the use of your own being in this world. So actually, what is called good works, or acting rightly in your life, consists of making use of all the faculties, all the senses, all the powers that have been given to you by Almighty God for the use in this world.
You will learn then, through your life in this world, through your success in this world, the benefit of worshipping Almighty God.
Brothers and sisters, Almighty God created man complete in this world. This is why a human being who is created by God is referred to as insan kamil, in other words, a being that is complete - complete, in that God has provided man with everything he needs for his life in this world. Until man has used everything that God has given him, until man has made use of all his faculties, it means that he has not yet carried out the will of God. He has not yet fulfilled God's plan or God's will for him.
You can illustrate it in a simple way. If you say that God has given man a ball point, until man has used that ball point to write with, until he has learned to write and has started to make use of that ball point, he has not fulfilled God's will. If he just puts that ball point in his pocket and uses it to walk around and show to people it is not yet doing the will of God as far as ball points are concerned.
What does it mean in terms of our whole being? It means our thinking, our seeing, all our senses, our hands with which we touch, our legs with which we walk - all of this - needs to be used to its fullest extent to fulfill what we need in this world.
Brothers and sisters, take again the example of the ball point. The use of the ball point is not for the benefit of God. It is for the benefit of man. The reason why God has given us our instruments is not because God wants something from us.
God needs nothing from us. God doesn't require any gift from man or any sacrifice or anything at all. God has given us our faculties for our own use, for our own life, for our own benefit.
This is the use of the latihan kejiwaan for us. It is a grace from God whereby we can understand Him. We are given an understanding that is beyond what man is normally capable of, so that we can understand things which we should not normally be able to understand.
Brothers and sisters, the benefit of your being, the use of your being, the use of the faculties God has given you is something you have to experience while you are living in this world. Do not imagine that you can use them in the next world. In the next world you will no longer remember anything of this world. If in this world you had nothing, if in this life you had a life that was miserable, you cannot put it right in the next world. In the next world you will be a blank. You will not remember anything more.
So if God has given you your senses, your body, your understanding, it is for use in this world. What Bapak calls the kejiwaan is something which only starts to function when you have left everything that exists in this world behind. The kejiwaan only starts to come into play when you have left behind your understanding and your faculties that you have in this world. Then the kejiwaan starts to work. Besides, this kejiwaan goes on by itself, independent of what is going on in this world.
What you need for this world is not the kejiwaan. What you need for this world is your heart and mind. It is absolutely not right to ask God for money with the latihan kejiwaan. That is not what the latihan kejiwaan is for. The latihan kejiwaan is for your life in the next world. If you want money, you have to find it with your heart and mind.
Brothers and sisters, the kejiwaan is something that goes on by itself. It is entirely the work of God. It is not something that you can organize or contribute to. This is God's service, God's work, for man. The kejiwaan is actually carried out by God. All we can do in terms of the kejiwaan is to surrender everything to God, to open ourselves to God, and to submit ourselves completely to his Will.
We cannot use that for this world. For this world we have our heart and mind. And that is what we have to use, and that is the roll of the heart and the mind and the faculties we have been given by Almighty God.
For example, supposing God has given you the skill or the talent to be a writer. Then your mind will be filled with an understanding of how to write, of what to write, of what it is that you can write that will bring you benefits, that will earn you money, or a livelihood. Bapak himself has experienced this. Bapak has written many books in the past. And when Bapak wrote them he didn't use his mind at all, he didn't think at all. It just came, the content. He received the content.
And where does this content come from? From Almighty God.
So this is the benefit of the latihan kejiwaan for our life in this world.
Truly, we should be able, having received the latihan, to work better than people normally do. We should be truly skillful and good at using our faculties, our heart, mind, and everything that we have been given.
It is absolutely wrong if people say to you, "Don't concern yourself with this world. Don't take too much trouble.
Don't be a busy body trying to achieve this and that. Leave it all to God. If you have a problem just pray to God and God will solve it, and don't get too involved in the needs of this world, because even if you don't have anything in this world it doesn't matter because you will be wealthy in the next world." Brothers and sisters, this is the old story and it is absolutely not to be followed if you have received the latihan kejiwaan because it happens to be completely wrong.
First of all, if you have nothing in this World, it does not mean that you will be rich in the next. On the contrary, your state in this world has nothing to do with what you will receive in the next world. It does not follow. The fact is that if we follow that attitude of leaving everything to God and not bothering with the needs of this world we are not fulfilling God's will, because we are not making use of the faculties God has given us. We are ignoring the gift of Almighty God and the will of Almighty God for us.
If we want to do God's will, we have to use everything God has given us. The only thing we have to watch out for is not to misuse it. Misusing it means doing things that harm other people, that restrict the benefits or happiness of other people, that restrict the freedom of other people. That is what we have to avoid.
It is absolutely not right that you should just listen to what Bapak has said without some proof, without some reality. That is why Bapak is going to test with you to give you some proof, even if it's just in your inner feeling that you can feel the reality of what Bapak is saying.
And Bapak would like to ask you not to go in and out of the room while Bapak is doing this with you unless it is absolutely necessary. Because what Bapak is going to do with you is of utmost importance for your life.
Breathe normally. If at this moment you are on the planet Jupiter, are you able to breathe? Back to normal. You cannot breathe there. So how could you think about something that is beyond Jupiter? Beyond Jupiter, for example in heaven, whatever you possess here, whatever you know here, you cannot possibly take with you. Whatever you have received here, whatever you have felt here you cannot possibly take with you to heaven unless you have received the grace of Almighty God, as, for example, was experienced by Prophet Muhammad who ascended to heaven to a place beside Almighty God. Such a journey is something that cannot possibly be imitated or followed by anyone unless it is willed by the power of Almighty God.
Whatever happens to you in the kejiwaan is something that happens to you through the will of Almighty God. It is something that proceeds spontaneously and by itself.
Brothers and sisters, everything that man experiences, every level that man experiences is filled with, and is guided by and is created by Almighty God - right from the lowest to the highest.
At the lowest level, the satanic level (the life of the material things, the life of the jinns, the devils), the power of God is there. Of course, this is a level that man would like to avoid. It's a level that man considers a danger, a threat to his nature, a threat to himself - something to be avoided. And yet, at that level the power of God is there and those devils there
From that level to the next is the level of the vegetable.
Even that is a very low level. It's only one above the material. And yet God's power is also there. Because within each plant, within each tree, there also is God's power. And it's because of this, because in each plant and in each tree there is an essence, there is the power of God that, for example, in India the hermits and ascetics consider it a sin to eat a plant or cut down a tree or kill vegetable life forms. In fact, it is true it's a sin if man cuts down a tree, but at the same time, it is the will of God, it is the decree of God.
For example, a man makes a tree into a table, of course it is destroying a living thing. You can imagine, what it must feel like to be made into a table. But at the same time it is the will of God. It is the decree of God.
Like a framework, like an organization, like a house that has to have walls, a floor, a roof, each part has to have its own function. This is God's plan.
For example, consider the human body. There are legs, there is a mouth, there is a head. Maybe the legs, if you look at them in isolation, get a very raw deal because the legs are always having to walk here, walk there, and they never get any fun. Maybe the best they get is that sometimes you put on some nice new socks and that feels comfortable. But then you have your mouth which gets carried everywhere, and gets the fun of eating bread and butter or something like that. So the legs could rebel and say "Well you have a fine time up there. You never have to work and you get all the nice experiences."
But the point is that all this is created as a whole so that each part has its duty and its responsibility.
And that is the significance of these levels, and the interaction of these levels.
Going up once again: the animal level. Even the finest, the smallest animal - say like bacteria - has within it the power of God. There is within it the essence of God. In India, similarly, that is why these ascetics or hermits consider it a sin to eat any animal food, or to kill an animal for food. But the fact is again, this is part of God's decree, God's plan.
It is clear that God's plan is that what is higher works on what is lower, what is stronger works on what is weaker.
So then you might think well God is very cruel. God creates a world where one thing eats another, or where one thing works on another. But it is not cruel. It is a framework. It is a complete framework that Bapak has just described.
And then, higher than the animal level, is the human, the jasmani level, the level of human beings. And higher than that again is the rohani, the rachmani and the rabbani.
All these are seven, seven levels, and all are encompassed by the power of God, as shown in the Subud symbol where you have the seven circles. So on each level, God's power is present and God's power works and guides what’s there.
So it is clear that man has to work, man has to use everything on every level that God has given him. And in whatever he is doing, he is guided by Almighty God, whether man is working in the material, vegetable, animal or human, God's power is there and God's power guides him. So it is essential for man to use all his faculties. And this is the purpose for which Bapak always advises us to do enterprises.
For us enterprises are a means of training ourselves, of accustoming ourselves to using what God has given us while always being in touch with God's power in the midst or whatever we are doing. So whether we are working, walking, no matter what, touching, we teach ourselves to always be aware of the worship of God. So wherever we are we are in touch with God's power.
And indeed it is so that once we reach that point, whatever we do can be expressed with the words, "Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah," When we are walking, when we are touching something, it is always filled with the power of Almighty God. So this is the purpose of enterprises.
The movements that L was making when Bapak was testing her, that also, if one expresses it, is like saying, "Allah, Allah, Allah." But the problem is that with her it is not yet complete because she does not yet understand. She isn't yet aware of what it means.
This is similar to what is aspired to in religion. As you know, some people who have long beards and are very religious carry beads which they count. Every time they say a prayer they count a bead. And as they go along they say the name of Allah or they say a prayer. And their aim in that is to be close to God. But that is only an aim. It is not yet a reality because that is still only their mouths and their hands that are doing it. It is not yet complete because it has not yet filled their being.
So this is what is required of us because we have received the latihan, because it is possible for us to experience the worship of God in the midst of every action, in the midst of everything we do.
So brothers and sisters, in short, you have to make use of your life. Make use of your being in order to fulfill the will of Almighty God because everything throughout creation aspires to know God, wishes to rise up to a higher level. But it is only God who can guide us on this way. From the satanic all the way up, everything aspires to God. But it is only God who can guide us. It is only God who can show us the way. It is only God who knows the way up, who knows how we can rise up into the jasmani and then out again to the other side. It is only God who can guide us in this.
It is essential for us to fulfill the needs of our life in this world guided by Almighty God so that our understanding will gradually stretch to the limits of our lives so that we will understand finally where we have come from and where we are going.
Brothers and sisters, we are allowed to be all sorts of things. We are allowed to do whatever we like. We are allowed to go to the movies, we are allowed to eat nice food, we are allowed to do this and that, we are allowed to experience everything in this world as long as we do not let go of this worship of Almighty God, this prayer within our being at all times, within everything that we are doing.
Brothers and sisters, it is not only man who is aware of and follows the power of Almighty God. It is also the satanic, it is also the vegetable, it is also the animal. At all levels it is so. Because if the satanic, if the material were not aware of the power of God, were not aware of the wcrkin9 of God within their being, they would disappear at that moment. They would not exist. So the condition of existence is that there is a contact with the power of Almighty God.
That is why Bapak always reminds you that you should not neglect this latihan kejiwaan. You should not neglect this working or this movement that you have received within your being, that has arisen within you free from the influence of the heart and mind, free from your desire or your wish or the movement of your nafsu. Always you should get used to - always in everything you do - feeling this contact, this movement of the latihan. So that in whatever you are doing, in the midst of your work, in the midst of your everyday life, you are always in touch with this constant prayer, this prayer which is called hadim, in other words, continuous and eternal.
This, brothers and sisters, is the advice that Bapak has received for all of you, for the benefit of all of you. And Bapak hopes that you will really put it into practice and take it seriously and truly feel it, and truly put it into practice because actually it is this that will fulfill the needs of your life, the life of your thinking, in this world, and your life in the other world that is the life that is beyond your life in this world.
Now once again brothers and sisters, to prove to yourself, to provide yourselves more evidence that life is one, one man, one God. Bapak is about to drink. (He does so.) Were you also drinking? Yes?
This is the evidence that man is one. That God requires man to be one. There is one God and one man. And if, therefore, it ever happens that the latihan spreads all over this world, then it is very possible that it will be the end of chaos and confusion in this world, that this world can truly become a place that is holy and filled with the worship of God.
